shell for his/her PC. The user can set up the shell so that a
single key press will run their favorite word processor,
spreadsheet, or any other program. Turnkey 3.1 - The Personal
Version sells for $49. A demo version is available for $10.
Turnkey 3.1 - The Personal Version requires 256K RAM, a hard disk,

Features/Benefits of Turnkey 3.1 - The Personal Version
- Lotus-like menus, on-line help, and context-sensitive help
messages make The Personal Version so easy to use that no manual
is necessary. A Quick Reference Guide summarizes the commands and
also contains installation information.
- Uses no overhead when running another program (i.e. The Personal
Version is not memory resident). Therefore all of the memory now
available to your applications will still be available when using
The Personal Version to start your programs. This means that all
of your spreadsheets, word processing documents, etc. can be just
as large.
- Can define up to 1000 separate menus, with no limit on the amount
of submenu nesting. Each menu can contain up to 15 items.
- Automatic usage tracking helps to determine most- and least-used
applications.
- Password protection for each menu item, if desired. Another
security feature is the ability to lock out the "escape to DOS"
feature.
Who uses The Personal Version?
- Consultants and VARs use it to set up easy-to-use menu systems
for their clients. They use The Personal Version in cases where
they want to allow their client to change his/her menu system in
the future.
- Companies use it for PCs which are being shared by several
people. The Personal Version makes access into each application
easy, and passwords can be utilized where necessary.
- MIS departments buy it for their users so that they can track the
use of various applications, while allowing each individual user
to customize their menus.
- Home PC users use The Personal Version to set up menus so that
less experienced family members can easily get into various
programs.
